Disadvantages
This is what customers from around the world say:
First time trying Mammut, will be buying boots from them in the future. The fit is similar to salomon - snug without pressure points. The smaller shape allows for great stability, allows me to sprint on uneven terrian with confidence, never had that experience with a pair of boots! I would not suggest sizing up. I bought according to size and I can wear them with thick winter socks.
The leather comes in a matte finish, I treated it with saphir creme, although you could use a non-oxidising oil such as jojoba. This created a shiny finish and deepned the color. It also preserves and waterproofs the leather without needing to use silicone sprays all the time. Stronger leather preservation can be acheived with a wax such as greenland wax warmed over a flame and rubbed into the shoe.

waterproof as long as you treat them right after use so wash of acidic bog water and every 5/6 uses in bad weather retreat the leather. boot construction great two points to note though, the insoles are cheap so id assume most the budget went into the boot construction and the toe cap could do with a bit tougher leather but thats only if youre pushing them through rocky steep hikes often.
