Product description
Water filter system for on the go
The GRAYL Geopress Purifier is a practical bottled water filter for on the go. Whether you’re camping, hill walking, canoeing or travelling, you can use questionable water sources and surface waters to obtain drinkable water.
Turning polluted water into drinking water made easy
Here’s how it works: First, fill dirty water into the ‘outer’ bottle. Then, take the ‘inner’ bottle, which features a purifier cartridge at the bottom and enter it into the ‘outer’ bottle. You push the filter cartridge downwards through the dirty water. And voilà, chemicals and pathogens remain inside the filter and the ‘inner’ bottle is now filled with clean water.
SimpleVent Drink Cap
The SimpleVent Drink Cap fulfils several functions. The cap vents and purifies the air, protects against cross-contamination, dirt and impurities, and allows one-handed operation with a fast-flowing drinking spout.
Up to 250 litres of water can be filtered
A total of up to 250 litres of water can be filtered (depending on the water quality). The service life is therefore around 1 year if used once a day, but should be replaced after 3 years at the latest if used less frequently.
The features at a glance:
- Virtually no set-up time and fast performance: cleans and filters contaminated water in 8 seconds (5 litres per minute)
- SimpleVent Drink Cap protects against cross-contamination, dirt and grime
- Ergonomic SoftPress for non-slip, fatigue-free pressing
- Non-slip TPE on all heavy-duty surfaces
- Active technology: ion exchange, ultra-powder activated carbon
- Removes waterborne pathogens (99.99% of viruses, 99.9999% of bacteria, 99.9% of protozoan cysts) including rotavirus, hepatitis A, norovirus, giardiasis, cryptosporidium, E. coli, cholera, salmonella, dysentery
- Filters particles (e.g. mud, microplastics, etc.)
- Activated carbon effectively adsorbs chemicals, pesticides, heavy metals, flavours and odours

The purifier was used for crystal clear, sediment free and drinking water quality lake water in Finland.
After a mere 12 uses, equivalent to 9 liters, the purification time exceeded 25 seconds.
Grayl recommend that the filter should be replaced at that point.
I was expecting to purify at least 250 liter of water, as this is what Grayl advertises for. And 250 liter is already a very low amount.
I would not recommend this product to anyone, except in case you are collecting plastic as a hobby.
