I regret buying my standard shoe size

I’m a total novice and these are my first climbing shoes. I bought the same as my standard shoe size, based on the advice on this site. My toes are tightly scrunched up in these shoes, and after less than a minute of climbing I was in such pain I threw them off the rock face and continued climbing barefoot. I have since been trying to stretch them using a hairdryer and brute force, but I doubt they’ll ever be comfortable. If, like me, you’re looking for a comfortable and affordable beginner’s shoe, I would go two full sizes up from your normal street shoe size.

Be aware, very small size

Picked 0.5 EU size over what the size guide said, but that was still way too small. Returned and ordered 0.5 EU over my street size, return fee for me was 10 euro.
