These are my first pair of approach shoes and up until now have tended to wear hiking boots on all walks. Me and my partner have just this week been to the lake district and these shoes made their first outing on striding edge, swiftly followed by an outing up Sharpe edge. Not only did they make climbing/scrambling feel much easier, more secure and enabled me to keep up with my mountain goat partner, I did not get one hot spot/sore bit/blister despite covering 50KM in the 30 degree heat! Could not recommend these shoes enough. They are also super easy to slip on and off for cold dips in tarns and streams!
