It says it is a 2nd layer but I use it as a base layer as it is light & breathable enough to wear as a base layer sun hoodie, the three quarter length two way zip is great for ventilation, it is a very good cut and the hood is extremely functional when wearing a base ball cap and it was exactly what I was looking for. The only negative is that it has a set sleeve instead of the usual raglan sleeve that most hiking layers have that stops backpack straps rubbing on the shoulder seam but thankfully that has not been an issue. I would recommend this shirt for anyone looking for a lightweight base layer or sun hoodie.
