I always keep one in my rucksack, it packs small and weighs nothing - my only concern is that it uses water and, if you don't have access to water then you need to use your drinking water which you cannot drink after you have heated your food.
I've used it in the snow, it needs to be kept well insulated but, it will boil a cup of water within a minute and the steam will heat your food more than enough.for at least 5/6 minutes.
I also buy it when I need to top up my order for free postage !
