This is what other customers say:
I am interested in both tents but want the hardest wearing and most weather proof. As it will be used as a base camp for kayak bivi tours so weight isnt an issue. Obviosly the spatz is a oe attractive price.Which one would you recommend for my needs.
Thanks
Matt
Hi, you state this outer is 100%cotton, however other websites including Spatz state it's a polycotton /technical cotton 35/65? Just a heads up!
Hi Matthew,
thank you for your question.
Both tipis has nearly the same design. The big difference is the used materials. The Spatz is made of cotton/polyester mix on the out and inner tent. The floor is the only part with full synthetic. The big advantage with cotton/polyester is the breathability especially on warm and sunny days. You will not have the warm inside like in the fully synthetic Bach tipi.
But you have to know that cotton/polyester mix is not really waterproofed, because the cotton yarn will swell up, when it gets in contact with water and will nearly make the material waterproof, but you could feel the wetness of the material on the inside without getting troubles on the inside with incoming water.
The Bach tipi is fully synthetic and waterproof through the material coating, but could be very hot inside on sunny days.
The weight of the tipis is different, because cotton is pretty heavy depending to the fully synthetic Bach tipi.
The cotton material is also more robust then the thin synthetic material.
Hopefully this will give you an idee and you could make a choise.
Best regards,
Hannes
