Product description
Bouldering and climbing shoes for the highest demands
The Women's Instinct VS from Scarpa are high-performance climbing shoes designed specifically for women (or more slender men). They feature a slightly softer sole than the men's model and a narrower cut overall. This means they offer the same benefits for lighter people with narrow to medium-sized feet - specifically, maximum performance for technically demanding bouldering and shorter sport climbing routes. Their speciality: foothold precision and hooks. Whether in the bouldering hall or out on the rocks, these are shoes for the toughest of projects.
Construction
The shoes boast an asymmetrical last and a medium downturn with an aggressive tip. As a result, they offer a fantastic balance of power transfer, flexibility and precision - perfect for versatile and demanding climbing and bouldering routes. Plus, the strong pre-tensioning in combination with the large, textured toe cap provides excellent hooking qualities. The microfibre and synthetic leather upper hugs your foot like a glove and is extremely durable. Meanwhile, the midsole, a Flexan insert, supports your feet especially well when standing on smaller footholds. The special Vibram XS Grip 2 rubber sole is relatively soft and therefore also best suited for lighter people.
Fit
In addition, the shoes feature a rather narrow heel area and an equally narrow forefoot area, which makes them particularly suitable for slightly narrower feet with low to medium volume. Scarpa recommends the shoes especially for those with a Greek foot shape, i.e. with a long second toe. Overall, the shoes are cut very tightly to allow for maximum precision. This, however, means that they are less suitable for multi-pitch climbing tours.
Conclusion
The Women's Instinct VS are high-performance all-rounders for technically demanding bouldering and tough sport climbing. They offer enough stability and precision for even the smallest footholds and steepest overhangs. A slightly softer sole and narrower last make them particularly suitable for women.
