The lightweight boots will offer optimal support thanks to their clever technical details. The boots are equipped with a synthetic upper and a waterproof HDry lining to reliably protect you against the elements. Plus, they have integrated, protective gaiters that’ll wrap around your feet like a sock and provide additional support and protection. For added protection, the outer area is equipped with a rubber rand and reinforced toes, so you’ll be able to conquer rocky terrains with ease. And, they have laces that are particularly durable due to their special texture.
Some other great features include the large pull tabs, the Vibram MegaGrip outsole that provides excellent traction on alpine terrain and the lightweight, flat soles that allow you to move quickly and with precision. Conveniently, the boots are compatible with semi-automatic crampons. The Ribelle S HD are must-haves for speedy climbs!

Hi Phillip, Yes that really is the case. I believe it's to do with the make up of the boot and any size bigger would be much too flexible to support a crampon safely.

fast and light...
I been to the mountains three times, snow and rock.
sole started to come apart. the shoe gets wet. :(
