When trying the boots on upon receipt, I could immediately feel the head/press stud of the lowest right D-Ring, which is on the inside the boot, pressing down upon the top of my left foot big toe. This is because of the way the press studs are mounted on the two leather eyelet flaps, as you tighten the laces (And thus the flaps), you feel the press studs pressing into your feet. And that's despite wearing socks!
For me the only way to rectify this was to skip the lowest D-Rings on that boot, but for a boot intended for around town use I feared that would look silly. I feel this is going to be a problem for other people who buy these boots and I wonder why Scarpa have not put any padding or thick material between your feet and the reverse of the D-Rings to mitigate this.
Secondly, I was unimpressed to find that beneath the insole is what appears to just be card. Not leather or fabric, just a hard and ungiving piece of card. I was led to believe this was an all leather inside boot. I very much doubt the card would hold up overtime, with moisture and frequent wear.
Ultimately I opted to return the boots.
