Product description
Light output for demanding outdoor activities
If you are out trail running, trekking or mountaineering after dark, the Headlamp Actik Core from Petzl offers you a sophisticated combination of performance and comfort. With around 625 lumens and a low weight of around 90 grams, you get a headlamp that is bright enough for quick movement while remaining comfortable to wear.
Practical functions for everyday outdoor use
Operation is deliberately kept simple. A single switch controls all light modes, including a red light to avoid dazzling other people and a flashing light for emergencies. Plus, the LED display helps you to keep an eye on the battery life, while the lock function prevents it accidental switching on in your backpack. Especially helpful is the phosphorescent reflector, which makes the lamp easy to find in the dark - a small detail with great benefits.
Thanks to its Hybrid Concept, you can operate the lamp either with the supplied Core rechargeable battery or with standard AAA batteries. Lastly, the reflective, adjustable headband increases your visibility at dusk and is easy to clean or replace.
The advantages at a glance:
- 625 lumens
- Five different light modes
- Simple operation with just one switch for all light modes
- Flexible operation with rechargeable battery or AAA batteries
- Reflective headband

Reviews overview
Advantages
Disadvantages
This is what other customers say:
I got a blue version. The notched rotation to angle the light and access the battery to charge was almost impossible to turn. When it has been turned to access the battery, twisting it back into position was fiddly and very hard. It appears the lugs that slide through the notches are fractionally too large. I sent back to Petzl UK and they did not acknowledge the problem but sent a replacement. It was exactly the same. Maybe it is a batch issue if others work ok.
Secondly, the red light can only be turned on by starting with the white light. On the previous model you pressed & held the on button to get red: much better design.
That said it sits on the head comfortably and gives a good bright light etc.
I can only recommend it if the rotation mechanism works easily: check before purchase.
