The very lightweight Ortovox Probe Carbon 240 Superlight has everything an avalanche probe needs: It comes with the reliable aramid tensioning system, which locks the probe immediately. This probe carbon segments, which are extremely stiff, so the probe should not bend, even in hard snow. Plus, carbon also has a low thermal conductivity, so it will freeze more slowly. If you want to tension the probe a bit more, you can use the adjusting screw.
