Product description
The Crag Sender Helmet from Mammut has been designed for use on crags. Not only is the lightweight and well-ventilated climbing helmet absolutely comfortable but it also provides lots of safety. Plus, thanks to its in-mould construction, the helmet is both durable and lightweight. In addition, Kevlar reinforcements have been included to increase resistance and to cope with strong external influences. As for the fit, both a practical adjustment system at the back of the head along with the fully adjustable chin strap ensure the perfect fit and won’t let the helmet wobble on your head. And, the helmet has been equipped with conveniently placed padding to prevent the formation of pressure points. Also practical: several large ventilation openings and an integrated air channel ensure rapid temperature regulation, which is specially perfect whilst climbing on warmer days.

I am not a climber but wanted to do some winter walking and abseiling with a friend who takes it way seriously! So I needed some head protection that would fit well and not bother me. I ride mountain bikes and love the TLD helmets so knew what good felt like.
I have tried some helmets at an outdoor centre and they felt awkward and uncomfortable and made my head too hot!
This fits the bill - I can put it in the winter pack and not notice the weight. When you need it - it fits and within moments you are unaware of it being there.
Probably expensive for the occasional use I give it, but my head is quite valuable to me!
