these are pretty light and can be used for trail walking and backcountry skiing. Handle is pleasant in bare hands and with gloves. I used them during mountain hikes and will use them this winter for skiing.

I got these poles for long trails and some mountaineering expeditions. So far, I've used them in both, and recently in a very demanding mountain, going through mud and wetter terrain, solid rocks, ruble/lose stones, snow and ice! They performed really well. I was a bit afraid of some bangs against the rocks, but they seem to be holding up really well.
