These shoes feature built in arch support. That is by definition not a barefoot shoe. The shoes are foot-shaped but not barefoot. Keens are also quite weighty, so definitely not a nimble shoe. I also had issue with side seams becoming unglued. The leather upper is of nice quality though and the shoes are very pretty. (Alpine Trek were wonderful about customer service and sorted everything out, so no issues there at all)

I have several KEEN shoes, both women’s and men’s models. All are size 41 and fit perfectly! In fact one men’s model is 40.5 and fits perfectly as well. I have the women’s model (in white) of this KNX unlined in size 41 - perfect. I ordered the men’s model (in black) also in 41 and it’s at least 1 number too small. Putting the two next to each other shows that the men’s model is indeed shorter. So it has to be returned. Maybe a manufacturing mistake but this should not happen. It costs me postage to return.
