Beautiful gloves but not warm enough

I note on the Hestra website the warmth rating is 4/8. I wish that info had been available on here. I have worn these (expensive) gloves twice on cold days, and my hands have got progressively colder! I assume the cold air is penetrating the lovely leather and that the insulation is inadequate. Contrary to the advice in this website I would definitely not wear these for skiing. You would get frostbite or worse.
