Summits covered in ice and snow - this is where the lightweight North Machine Carbon Shovel by Grivel belongs! This ice tool features an extremely robust, lightweight carbon shaft. Moreover, it meets the type T certification standard and therefore has a breaking load of up to 400 kg. The North Machine Carbon Shovel is processed with the G Bone technology. This means that notches make the shaft nice and slim and provide maximum grip and safety. The pick is made of hot-forged chromium molybdenum steel suitable for mixed climbing on walls of rock and ice. With its reverse positive grinding, the pick cuts through hard firn and ice without difficulty.
The shovel is perfect for hacking steps into the ice or crushing unstable frozen surfaces. Of course, the shovel can also be removed or replaced. In order to relieve your forearms while climbing and to save you energy, the North Machine Carbon Shovel is equipped with two finger rests. All these properties considered, it can be said that this ice tool is a perfect and highly versatile piece of equipment for mixed climbing, steep north faces, icefalls and rock faces.
