Very well made
However I didn't buy them. I take a 7 and usually buy Salomon 7 1/2 cos they are wife fitting. Tried a size 8 in these but they were way too narrow.

Sole out of line with upper !
Bought for lightweight use and developed ankle and knee problems . Put this down to old age(me not the shoe) and attended my physio for a going over . I've been seeing same guy for a number of years and he asked what was different as this was the first injury related reason for attending..subsequently asked me to bring the shoes next session .
Next time around he examined shoes.
After placing them on a table it was clear the sole and upper were badly out of line and caused the ankles to camber inwards..stopped wearing and the problem resolved itself
Dont know if these are a dud pair or this is Garmont "tech" would check them on table top straight out of the box guys beware.

These have taken everything I've thrown at them in their stride, from climbing around Different to scrambling in the Cuillins and drinking and dancing! Well worth it and they come in Cobalt blue too!
Small made as usually take UK size 9 but next size up…9.5 was too small and very narrow toe box
Also not waterproof which I hadn’t realised.

Incredible fit and comfort from day 1. I use these daily. Since September and the sole has worn out (10 months). The grip is incredible in dry, but slightest bit of moisture and you have no grip whatsoever, I’d actually say they’re appalling to be honest when wet. I had scarpa, la sportiva, merrell, meindl etc etc but Garmont being the worst out of all in bad weather, not to mention they’re really not waterproof even walking in long wet grass you’ll suffer leakage. generally on the stiff side to ‘feel’ the ground underfoot for narrow trails and foot placements. The protective rand and stiff sole is good for scree but not common for my hiking trails.

A very comfortable, supportive shoe, ideal for less ambitious hikes and not too technical looking to wear around town. Robust and fairly water resistant - although not entirely waterproof.

I have a pair of Garmont Pinnacle GTX boots that are truly excellent. This was a factor in buying the dragontails.
However first time I wore them in rocky terrain they both got damaged and now need to be replaced. Fit and stability is good but uppers too fragile.
This shoe was 80% fantastic but the only down side was after about a year the sole started to peel. I walked in them nearly every day and there generally amazing and continued to be for nearly three years once I'd glued the sole properly.

I normally wear a UK 9. I am walking the 100km Thames Challenge, the terrain isn’t rough but still want a shoe & fit that will cope with this challenge.
Hi André,
An absolutely precise size advice is unfortunately not possible in a pure online shop, I would choose one size larger than your normal street shoe size.
You are also welcome to order several sizes to choose from and return unsuitable items to us.
Kind regards,
Marco

I am owner of an older pair of red Dragontail MTN and i bought now the LTs (shark-taupe in excellent price...)
Very nice, normal fit to my -normal- feet (9.5)
its a little lighter than MTNs and a little softer than these, mostly because of the difference in stiffness of the Vibram sole ...
Very good and robust construction, seems that they will last for many years, like the MTNs...
Like MTNs i will use from time to time a good quality waterproofing spray and i hope that like the MTNs would be waterproof enough, but not perfect, like the GTX models.
Very nice lacing and easily adjustable to my feet...
very nice shoes for a survey engineer like me with two-three hours every day outside in all the terrains...
No negatives at all...
