Product description
Ice climbing on steep and challenging terrain, daggering, hooking onto cauliflowers and a precise placement with every stroke - these are the Apex ice tool from DMM’s specialities.
Featuring a strongly curved shaft, picks will easily find sufficient support on overhanging cauliflowers. As for the bottom of the shaft, it is rubberized and has two removable hand rests, allowing different grip positions and placements of the hands. Plus, the ice tool comes with grip tape which can be placed on the upper part of the shaft for added grip. And, if you typically use leashes, then you can simply attach it through the top of the ice tool’s designated hole.
In addition, the Apex features pick weights on the head of the axe to guarantee the perfect balance and swing weight in different conditions. However, these weights can easily be removed for use during mixed climbing and dry tooling. Plus, the switch system for picks, shovel and hammer head allows for great versatility. And now for the icing on the cake: the certified type 2 picks and shaft allow for easy leverage. So, you won’t need to worry about your ice tool breaking.
