Yes, I am very much overweight, obese and not the usual athletic outdoor type. But people like me find it very hard to find this type of item in a wide square cut.
The 4XL Wide fit version of this coat was a big surprise. It is now my best fitting jacket by far. Not tailored and a very generous cut. If anything, I should have gone for a size below.
My wife and kids all agreed it is actually quite slimming on my huge frame.
Thanks Columbia for providing kit for the chunkier members of society.

Hi Binaya, With a weight of just over 200g , this is very packable. Roll it up into it's hood for example to store away and to get it out again quickly when needed.
Hi Ian, The sizing is good here from Columbia but do not expect a slim athletic fit. Good in the shoulders and only a little generous in the body.

Good warmth despite the padding feeling thin at first. Nice looks and larger main zipper. Fit is slightly loose and with broad shoulders, good for layering under or leisure wear. The collar remains wide even when fully zipped up, at least compared to the similar Horizons Explorer jacket I have, which to me has a narrower collar and protects a little better around the neck.
