The Rollnlock from Climbing Technology is a compact and easy-to-use ascender. It can be used in three different ways: for ascents, as a pulley or a hauling pulley.
The advantages of the Rollnlock ascender at a glance:
- New shape and the different coloured plates for a more intuitive handling
- Enables ascents on a rope in accordance with EN 567 / EN 12841-B standards (ascent mode)
- Thanks to the clamping function, the unit can be used as a simple pulley for lifting or moving a load in accordance with the EN 12278 standard (pulley mode)
- Allows direct recovery of a load, creation of pulleys and lifting or self-hoisting of a person, e.g. a fall into a crevasse (hauling pulley mode)
- In the pulley mode, the rope can slide freely in both directions, while in recovery mode it can slide freely in one direction and locks in the other
- Switching from one mode to another is intuitive and can be done even when wearing gloves or in adverse conditions
- The compact size and light weight make it an ideal tool to keep on your harness at all times

Used as back up to prusik in case of a fall on overhanging ground, very light and certainly easier for harness attachment ( verses leg loop) as slides up easily plus simple to fit on a weighted rope. Make sure you practice with it to understand how it fits into your system and to build confidence in it and back it up
