Product description
A clever patented combination by Climbing Technology: the Quick Roll Ascender with integrated rope pulley. The idea of combining a handled ascender for left or right-handed climbers with an integrated rope pulley will make sense to anybody who at some point has had to jumar up, for example when exploring caves, climbing tall trees or during crevasse rescue exercises (MAO technique). During ascent on the rope, a leg loop is connected to the chest ascender via the pulley and pulled up when loaded to keep the body close to the ascent rope, conserving energy. The integrated rope pulley does not comply with PPE (personal protective equipment) guidelines and only serves as an aid.
Apart from the extra rope pulley, the Quick Roll ascender is identical in construction to the Quick'Up+ ascender. It has an ergonomic handle coating and can be operated with one hand: Just press down the lever with your thumb to unlock the steel cams. The steel cams have teeth with a good firm grip that nevertheless don’t damage the rope. The clamp also has two attachment holes with an anti-inversion system, as well as a secondary hole for a Maillon Rapide combined with a ladder, for example.
If the Quick Roll ascender with rope pulley by Climbing Technology is used in combination with a chest ascender for speleology, industrial climbers or arborists often use it in combination with a self-braking descender such as the Sparrow.
