Product description

The Climbing Technology Hound Plus is made for alpinists who venture out to icy regions at all times of the year.
This is a classic ice axe with a curved shaft. It is available in three different lengths. At the bottom, the shaft is straight, which makes it easy to drive it into deep snow. Plus, you can use it as a walking stick on steeper ascents and descents. The ergonomic hot-forged steel headpiece consisting of a pick and adze is designed to provide better grip, making it perfect for supporting yourself. What's more, the head is balanced and heavy enough for a sufficient bite in ice, thick hard crust and in steeper couloirs. Plus, the blade doesn't have an overly aggressive curve to it. Thus, the ice axe is just as suited for classic north walls and couloirs as it is for ski tours in glacier mountain regions. The slight curve and the teeth that don't extend all the way to the head will also come in handy if you happen to use too much force when driving the axe into the ice. This design will allow you to extract the axe much more easily. In steep ice and on the north walls of the Alps, this short ice axe is often used in conjunction with a quality ice tool with a lot of bite. That way, you'll be perfectly prepared for longer ascents and descents in icy terrain.
The Climbing Technology Hound Plus is equipped with the adjustable leash Drag Tour, which is attached to a hole in the pick. This hole can also be used for inserting a carabiner to prevent you losing the axe.
