If you’re looking for a camming device, be it for rock climbing, alpine climbing or trad climbing, then you’ve got to check out the Camalot Z4 from Black Diamond. The device’s special feature: it has a single stem that’s designed to remain rigid whilst under tension. This allows you to place the device in places that are difficult to access. Once you place the device, it will become flexible, so it’ll adapt to the rope’s pull without moving out of the gap or hole. In addition, the dual twisted cable construction provides the larger Camelots with flex. The smaller models have a cable construction that provides better stability and a reduced trigger profile.
