The NijakSt. II Pro Sleeping Mat from Heber Peak is a high-performance sleeping mat for camping and van life in every season. With an R-value of 8 and synthetic insulation combined with aluminium foil, it offers you very high thermal performance, which is ideal for cold nights and year-round use. As a true 4-season sleeping mat, it provides reliable insulation from the ground.
High lying comfort and well-thought-out construction
Thanks to its 10-centimetre thickness, the mat offers noticeable comfort and effectively compensates for uneven ground. The top made from 20-denier material is comfortable and lightweight, while the bottom made from 40-denier material provides increased protection and longevity. A silicone print on the top prevents your sleeping bag from slipping.
Practical features for on the go
The pump bag is integratet in the stuff sack for quick and easy inflation and weight saving. Also a repair kit is included. This means you will be well prepared even on longer tours. The mat is comfortable, lightweight and packs down very well, but unfortunately I found the material too fragile for the type of use it is intended for.
Mine was accidentally punctured by a sharp object while packing my backpack. I didn’t realise until reaching my overnight camp on the mountain, where I discovered the mat was completely unusable. This left me without any insulation from the ground for the night.
I appreciate that any inflatable mat can be punctured, and the damage was accidental, but for a product designed for trekking and mountain camping I would have expected a little more puncture resistance.
Good in terms of weight, comfort and pack size, but after this experience I wouldn’t rely on it again for remote or high-altitude camping
