According to Shimano, you need to fit either the cleats or the cleat covers before you can use these shoes. Which ones are included in the box, cleats or covers? Or are the shoes in fact unusable out of the box?

No, the cleats are not included in the delivery. These always depend on the specific pedal, and this doesn't just apply to this shoe. We don't have any cleats in our range either, sorry.
