These are the best approach shoes that I've owned primarily due to how long they last. I used to use 5:10 Guide Tennie's and loved the dotty rubber but found that they wore out very quickly. I also have a pair of Unparallel approach shoes but have found that they have fallen apart pretty quickly (soles wore out very fast and started peeling off at the back, lace eyelets broke). I wear these Scarpa's pretty much every day and the Vibram soles are very long lasting plus the uppers are tough and don't deteriorate.
My normal day to day is in an urban environment and weekends and holidays are in the countryside and mountains. I have used these shoes for scrambling and easy climbing plus long hikes in mountain terrain.

Excellent shoe, after owning a few approach shoes and being disappointed, either because they fall apart or smell because they don't breath (gortex lined)
Other makes have unfortunately ripped or broken down on the inside near the heel.
After 10 months these are going strong.
