I haven't tried the shoes in proper action, but the "thread" looks to be quite grippy. They're comfortable; toe box is wide enough.
What didn't work for me was this: I need shoes that "roll" well from the heel. These don't do that, and it causes my old knee problem to flare up.
I really liked the shoes, unfortunately they don't work for me. I can recommend them if you're not hampered by knee problems.
