The length of the points is 12mm.

Are these ok in areas where only some bits are icy?

Sometimes you don't know where the ice will be, are these sort of spikes ok on non icy ground too?

Hi amy , These will not be at all ideal when not on snow or ice. The following will be better although not perfect:
