Product description
Lightweight athletic down jacket
Super warm, wonderfully light and plenty of freedom of movement, the Brenta Jacket from Salewa is perfect for active winter tours!
This down jacket is made from a lightweight, tear and abrasion-resistant outer material that has been treated with a long-lasting, water and wind-repellent DWR finish. Its high-quality duck down fill with a ratio of 80:20 (down/feathers) and a fill power of 550 cuin ensures excellent insulation. Plus, the strategically positioned quilting creates a stylish look and also prevents the down fill from bunching together, which optimises the jacket's insulating performance. Meanwhile, the Responsible Down Standard label guarantees that strict animal welfare guidelines have been adhered to during production.
The athletic cut and the special sleeve construction with gusset inserts allow for full freedom of movement, even during demanding action. In addition, the waistband and cuffs are elasticated, as is the integrated hood. As a result, the jacket fits comfortably and cosily. To prevent cold winds from getting inside, it is also equipped with a storm flap underneath the front zip.
The advantages at a glance:
- Durably wind and water-repellent thanks to DWR treatment
- Great thermal insulation thanks to quilted down fill
- Extra freedom of movement thanks to gusset inserts
The Salewa Committed symbol identifies products that fulfil strict criteria at Salewa with regard to environmental and social compatibility. A Salewa product must fulfil two mandatory criteria and at least one additional criterion.
The mandatory criteria include: 1. Chemically tested: For more than 90% of the product weight, at least one of the following criteria is fulfilled: a) The main material (or the entire product) has been externally chemically tested according to Oberalp's chemical guidelines and b) The main material is bluesign-certified. 2. Monitoring of social standards in production: The second mandatory criterion is compliance with social standards and appropriate working conditions at a production site, which are verified by external audits.
Depending on the product, the additional criteria may include upcycling, recycling, certain material compositions, PFC-free treatment or responsibly sourced down.

In my opinion i have found this jacket really good. It fits very well and snug in the right areas. It feels soft. It is very warm and works well with a baselayer, even on a cold day. I really like this jacket and really like the brand. I have however after about 6 months of use noticed a few wear and tear areas. I am monitoring these to make sure there isnt any further damage which is a massive shame. I do however think this is a great light weight jacket, packs down well too. Recommended.

Have not tried it in the mountains yet. I saw some reviews that it fits tight, it was great for me (L for 189cm, 93kg). Feels warm for its' very small weight. A con is that is seems that is does not fold into one of its' pockets and does not come with a carrying bag.
