The Namche GTX Jacket from Rab is a 3-layer GORE-TEX waterproof jacket that offers reliable protection in changeable weather. Thanks to its ePE membrane, it combines durable all-round weather protection with excellent breathability, agility and minimal weight. The highly functional yet comfortable fabric blend is ideally suited to versatile and prolonged use in alpine and outdoor environments. With its fully recycled fabric and energy-efficient solution-dyed lining, the Hardshell jacket also scores highly in terms of sustainability.
Comfortable and practical details
The generous and thoughtfully designed features of the Namche Hardshell Jacket also ensure maximum versatility and freedom of movement. Features include a two-way adjustable hood with a stiffened brim for maximum weather protection, and hook-and-loop fastenings at the cuffs for an optimal fit. Articulated sleeves provide even greater freedom of movement, while the waterproof underarm zips prevent heat build-up during strenuous climbs. Further details, such as the waterproof front zip with a fleece-lined chin guard along with cleverly positioned pockets round off the comfortable design to perfection!

I had an important birthday last year and decided to treat myself to a more expensive hiking jacket than I normally indulge in. The Rab is well worth the extra cost. It's a good length, the hood fits properly without obstructing my vision and it's very easy to pack when the sun comes out. My only complaint seems to be true for all jackets these days: I can only pull the zip up a few centimetres without the flap getting in the way. Maybe I have faulty zipping technique. There's probably a course for that...
