Saving serious weight for the long uphill slog, the Continuum's advanced Pertex Quantum GL shell and inner-layer use precisely woven nylon yarns (10-denier or less) for superlight protection that's virtually windproof (1.0 cc max) and water-resistant. 850-fill European goose down traps fiery heat without being bulky, thanks to the jacket's mini stitch-through baffles. Additionally, the jacket's down insulation uses a hydrophobic treatment to prevent the insulation from losing its heat-trapping loft in damp alpine conditions.
