Product description
Light weight for great adventures
The lightweight and functional Swisswool Piz Boè Jacket from Ortovox is designed for demanding ski tours on cold days. The weatherproof and insulated jacket jacket packs down small and weighs very little, so it’s great for outdoor enthusiasts. Not only is it windproof and water-repellent, but also abrasion-resistant thanks to the durable outer shell made from Pertex Quantum. Its Swisswool merino wool lining will keep you toasty warm. The moisture-regulating natural fibres can absorb a lot of moisture, making them warm even when damp.
Practical details that enhance comfort
The elasticated, helmet-compatible hood wraps around the head and neck. Another great feature includes the high stand-up collar for extra protection. Plus, the jacket is equipped with stretchy cuffs and underarm stretch inserts made of Merino Naturetec Light. These, along with the ergonomic cut, offer a full range of motion and keep the cold wind out. As for storage space, it’s provided by the two spacious zipped front pockets and a zipped chest pocket. The casual and functional softshell jacket offers maximum comfort on demanding tours.
The features at a glance:
- High insulation performance with a low weight
- Odour-inhibiting, stretchy and moisture-regulating properties
- Plenty of freedom of movement and weather protection

In fact, I did buy a second one just now. :) Very comfy, athletic fit - which is a rare joy for me. Outstanding temperature regulation and breathibility at a very light weight. For me, this jacket alone was comfortable in 10C while walking my dog - but my dog is a Vizsla, so when I needed to up the tempo a bit, it was too hot. Luckily, the big pockets can be opened to help with the ventillation. Very nice feature!
Particularly nice materials where it matters most - inner material feels nice to the skin, cuffs are thin and stretchy, underarms and back of the shoulders seems like a softshell, which helps a lot when things heat up. The hood is well shaped for up to an extra baseball hat, not a helmet. Zips seemed fragile at first, but proven to be good so far.
Negatives: I got used to side pockets, and this one has them high up in the chest area only - better for backpack, but looks strange if you actually put a phone or wallet there.
