If you’re in the market for a reliable and lightweight softshell jacket for icy alpine tours and ski tours, then you need to check out the wind and water-repellent Swisswool Col Becchei Hybrid Jacket from Ortovox.
In addition to providing you lots of freedom of movement and protection, the durable and elastic Tec Stretch as well as the Swisswool fill will keep you warm and comfortable. Enhanced protection against the wind and cold is provided by the 60g insulated Swisswool inserts in the front and upper sleeves. The jacket also has a Tasmanian merino wool fabric on the inside, which comes from mulesing-free sheep.
Many functional details
The full-zip softshell has two backpack-compatible side pockets with concealed zips. Extra airflow is provided by the underarm ventilation zips that keep you cool when you need it. Some other practical features include the abrasion-resistant quilted hood and shoulder area, which are durable and wind repellent and the self-adjusting hood that fits snugly and protects your head and neck. In addition, it’s equipped with an elasticated hem and cuffs to keep cold draughts out. It’s made of PFC-free recycled polyester, which is better for the environment.
