Hi Rosemary,
The Altai uses less fill compared to the Lightline , 190g compared to 296g. It is also waterproof whereas the Lightline is not. Slightly heavier and longer also.
Really , these are two different jackets for two different purposes. The Altai is not as well insulated but because of it's length will offer more protection from the elements and I'd say better for a more damp climate. The Lightline is better insulated and more suited for activity in cold , dry climates.
