Product description
Redundancy means that you aren't counting on single component of your anchor system to keep you safe. And, this is exactly what the Smart HMS carabiner from Mammut does. The Smart HMS comes equipped with a keylock and a screw gate along with a safety gate. The safety gate is a rubber insert that prevents the carabiner twisting in the belay loop of the climbing harness, thereby eliminating risk of cross-loading. Plus, the screw gate can only be operated when the safety gate is opened. It's a great redundant system for beginners and advanced climbers alike. The Smart HMS is lightweight, offers great breaking strength and handling overall. In short: The Smart HMS carabiner offers that extra portion of safety every climber could use.

It's my first HMS carabiner type. It's nice to recognise easily if the carabiner is locked.
