04.09.2022Great boot
Using the boot mostly for hiking and scrambling in wet conditions I've yet to have a problem with them causing hot spots or blisters.
The only thing that I don't like about these boots is how thin the laces are. They don't feel very strong, but the do secure the boot around the foot when fastened properly

04.10.2025I would not buy these boots again
I found the boots very comfortable straight out of the box.
I used the product for maximum of two years.
I used the boots for general hill walking .
I would recommend the boots for light use and summer walking including via Ferrata.
The boots were a great fit.
The boots were not waterproof after approximately one years wear.
Both boots split on the sides and let in water.
The boots are not robust or hard wearing.
I returned the boots to the manufacture who would not honour the warranty and said it was fault for not looking after them which was definitely not true.
It’s a real shame as I would not buy this product again because I really do like them they just won’t last and they are quite expensive.

I am copying the text from the other reviewer who has had the SAME issue as me.
I walk 10,000 steps most days walking my dog in Lowland woodland and Downland.

The boots were a great fit and light.
The boot split on the leather upper connecting to the rubber edge of the boot.
The boots are not robust or hard wearing.
I contacted Alpinetrek who asked for photos and this was sent to the manufacture who would not honour the warranty and said it had been used too much.
I took them to a cobbler who said it was a clear failure in manufacture.
I have NEVER had a boot fail in 11 months of walking. I have

The TX5 boots are a hardwearing boots and can stand all the punishment of heavier leather boots. The boots in the photo are 5 year old and used nearly daily and are still going strong . The boots don't need breaking in I used them straight out of the box straight on to the mountains just like a good pair of slippers. I use my boots for all my mountain activities scrambling and climbing The are a pleasure to used on long hikes due to the lightweight of the boots unlike the heavy weight leather boots.
I would advise you try them for size before you buy I went up 2 sizes to get a good fit.
There are no negatives I could say about them and that is rare. That's why have have bought a second pair only when the old ones have had there day.

My only gripe with this boots is that the laces are too thin and you can’t really fit thicker laces as the holes for them are very tight.

Hi,just wandering if you will be getting the coffee/tiger in stock.and also I was 41 in size with the Scarpa mescalito would these be a size 41 as well for me.
Thanks.
Hi Scott,
It'll be probably mid September before those are available in the colour Coffee / Tiger. Sizing wise it will be best to go up a half EU size to 41.5.
Perhaps set up a stock notification email so we can keep you informed.

These boots are not waterproof.
They don't leak water in, up to the height of the ankle. But from there up the water it leaks into the inside.
They have excellent traction with the ground and good construction materials.
But they are not comfortable after a long hiking. The La Sportiva Ultra Raptor are much more comfortable.
