Product description

The Trango Tech GTX from La Sportiva are very light mountaineering boots for hikes, approaches and much more. The boot comes equipped with a synthetic upper that is very abrasion resistant and features Thermo Tech Injection technology to keep seams and weight to a minimum. Plus, there’s a GORE-TEX membrane to fend off water from the outside and shed moisture resulting from sweat. For a perfectly customised fit, the boot features to-the-toe lacing as well. As for the sole unit, La Sportiva have opted for a high-quality Vibram sole for superb grip as well as an anti-shock midsole to absorb impact and protect the joints. They’ve also incorporated their Impact Brake System to improve braking power on descents and add more cushioning. An impact-resistant rubber rand delivers some added durability for rocky terrain, and the small TPU insert at the heel gives them semi-automatic crampon compatibility. Lastly, the boot features the 3D Flex System to facilitate ankle mobility and provide support whilst maximising the surface area on rough terrain. The Trango Tech GTX is a great way to get yourself excited about your next adventure in the mountains.

Hi Daryl,

I think it best to put it another way. These are a crampon compatible boot and suitable for crampons with either a strap-on or semi-automatic binding.

The semi-automatic bindings will have the best fit and will be easiest to use.

Not the best insulated of boots but perfect for summer alpine use
