Product description

If there were a law that every climber could have only a single pair of climbing shoes, there's no doubt that the La Sportiva Katana would be first many sport climbers', alpine climbers' and boulderers' lists. It is simply an all-round great shoe that shines in an array of disciplines. If you are looking for a versatile shoe and would prefer not to have different shoes for bouldering, sport climbing and alpine rock climbing, the Katana is the right choice. It offers enough stability for narrow holds and good grip on slippery slabs. Whether you're indoors or outdoors, the Katana will excel wherever you take it!

Let's talk facts: With the La Sportiva Katana, you'll get a climbing shoe with a 4 mm thick Vibram XS Edge rubber sole. The upper material is a blend of leather and microfibres. The synthetic material does not stretch and offers a consistent fit, and the leather feels more comfortable against the skin and provides a better environment for the feet. The two pull-on loops at the heel make it easier to put on and are ideal for attaching your Katanas to your backpack or climbing harness with a carabiner.

Another great feature can be found in the design of welded hook-and-loop fasteners. The wide fasteners allow for precise adjustments and an easy on/off after every boulder. A real all-rounder - no wonder the Katana is so popular among the best climbers.

Note: Since the La Sportiva Katana runs relatively large, it is advisable to order the shoe in a size smaller than your street shoe size. You might even want to go two sizes down for tougher tours.

Shoe for advanced climbers

Sturdy feeling shoe that probably would last for a long time and great support on the sides. However, the tension on the heel was too uncomfortable for me so I returned the shoe and went for La Sportiva Finale VS instead. I'm an intermediate climber- I believe that this would be a great shoe for more advanced climbers, willing to sacrifice the comfort. Would recommending the brand, hence ordering same brand with less tension.
