I bought the first one in New Zealand in November 2023 and I'm so satisfy, I ordered more via Bergfreunde. I use them mostly for skiing and leisure

I was afraid of merino underwear will be itchy. I am super sensitive and in fact I found some of the Icebreaker products itchy too... but I gave it a try and I am wearing one of these right now... might felt itchy for the first few minutes, never since. brilliant. comfortable. breathing. warm when needed but does not overheat.

To put briefly: Icebreaker Anatomica is about 6x more expensive relatively speaking than Stoic boxers (durability and price factored in). Stoic is the proprietary brand of Bergfreunde and so far very impressive (socks too), though not same level of softness.
I wore the Icebreaker boxers for home, office and sometimes hiking in warm weather, I have four pairs.
They are very comfortable, but terribly thin, and as many reviewers in forums elsewhere cite NOT DURABLE. After using them about 30 times there are holes forming at 4-5 parts despite very gentle and careful use (including only wool wash), where only the nylon web holds, merino is completely worn – never used them hard, such as with bicycle for example. Customer service of Icebreaker declined any responsibility.
I keep reading since VF, a huge Chinese giant firm has taken over Icebreaker the quality (and customer service) has dropped like stone – and same I read about other brands VF has taken over (check them carefully, many brands!).
Better picks:
1. Bergfreunde Stoic boxers -- I own two pairs for over two years, used each pair at least 40 -50 times and close to no sign of wear -- fantastic. Much cheaper (50% less), material not as fine-smooth but MUCH MORE DURABLE. I can imagine the Stoic boxers would last beyond 100 uses... So the Icebreaker Anatomica is about 6x more expensive relatively speaking!
2. Amazon’s Menique – 100% Merino, did not expect durability and there are some such complaints – for me they are the best. Material fineness similar, but thicker and warmer than Icebreaker. Much cheaper (50%). So far no issue, but Stoic will probably last more.
3. Icebreaker Cool-Lite – same thickness of material, but seems more durable (about half of yarn viscose).
Also not recommended: Czech brands -- cheap for a reason. I had two brands, both inferior.
