Product description
Weatherproof walking boots for demanding hikes in the mountains
The Makra Trek GTX walking boots from Hanwag are suitable for up to 3,000 metres of altitude, even on difficult terrain. They are certainly lightweight thanks to their Vibram Integral Light sole construction with low stack height, yet offer strong weather protection thanks to the waterproof GORE-TEX membrane. Due to their reduced cushioning, they are best suited for tours with little luggage.
Secure footing and a durable upper
The last is designed for more technically demanding trekking, making these walking boots convincing even on difficult terrain. In addition, their flat sole construction provides stability and surefootedness. The upper is made from Perwanger suede, which is characterised by extraordinary toughness and durability. As a result, is reliably protects your feet from scree. The 2-zone lacing with a mechanical clamp ensures a firm heel hold - once clamped, your foot is firmly locked in.
Together with the completely waterproof and breathable membrane, these features add up to make for solid footwear that is somewhere between high-quality walking boots and classic trekking boots. Like all Hanwag shoes, the Makra Trek GTX are 100% made in Europe.

Mot a cheap boot, but boy you get your moneys worth, my last pair lasted 10 years and on the first purchase I walked 120 miles in five days without a single ache or blister, hence why I bought again .
