Very handy microspikes - they are lighter than crampons so convenient to carry for light snow and relatively flat terrain or left over snow patches at the end of the season.

Advantages
Good grip Lightweight -
Disadvantages
Complicated to put on
These are easy to fit and use with any shoe. They have good grip for a snow spike and are perfect for optimising safety in icy conditions where a true crampon would be overkill. I store them in the boot of my car in case I ever get stuck in ice/snow and need to walk out. Relatively inexpensive and reliable option that will fit the majority of shoes.

Advantages
Fit well Good grip
Rubber quite a tight fit for the shoe size, takes effort to get them on, to bar stops them moving down to mid foot. Work well and good value.
-
Advantages
Good grip
These provide excellent traction for walking on ice and snow, plus a reasonably comfortable fit over the top of the foot due to a large surface area of rubber webbing.
