Waterproof walking boots
The Vetta Tech GTX from Garmont are high-cut walking boots that allow you to make steady progress and protect your feet in the mountains. Thanks to GORE-TEX Extended Comfort technology, the boots are also breathable and waterproof, offering you the best weather protection. This keeps your feet pleasantly dry, whether on strenuous climbs, heavy rain showers or even in snow. Meanwhile, reinforcements on the heel and toes provide extra protection. After trying to replace (like for like) a much loved pair of leather gtx boots from Austria, and owning ‘many’ pairs of Garmont Dragontail shoes, I settled for these. They’re a great pair of boots and I don’t know why I didn’t consider them earlier.
Update - Sadly after wearing these boots a few times I noticed I had a wet sock on one foot. I contacted Alpinetrek for support and had to send them back for a refund. Not over the moon as the boots were a great fit and I really liked them. But they need to do what it says on the tin, when it states waterproof and Goretex. Due to this I now wouldn’t recommend them, unless you don’t plan to get wet, but then I guess you’d buy a more breathable boot.
