28.03.2021Warning - Unstable shoe with reduced foot print.
Previous 2 Mountain approach shoes. Salomon X-Alp and Scarpa Mojito.
Comfortable, breathable, Warm. Easy to adjust tension along the length of the shoe. Foot bed stability good. Foot print generous.
Garmont Footbed stability poor. Foot print much reduced, Compared with the above two shoes (see images). Also the heel is too high too for such a narrow shoe. Threatens Ankle injury, even on lowland forest paths. Metal eyelets for the laces provide little friction, making it impossible to adjust tension along the length of the foot. Not waterproof, no bellows. step in a puddle and your foot will be wet. Have walked 8 miles in these. Will not wear them again.

I suppose each person has a chance to state an opinion but these are different shoes
each brand has own design opinions
Hence the issue
Does that make the purchaser right, no just an after product purchase mistake
each to their own
On my feet, these shoes can only be used walking up and down mountains. They are not comfortable shoes for walking around cities.
