The Kanken is a classic, known for its long durability. One aspect in which Fjällräven are doing their bit for the environment, since you won't be in need of a new daypack anytime soon if you buy a Kanken. However, now, even the robust, small, square shaped companion with its long durability comes in a much more environmentally-friendly version!The Re-Kanken is completely made of recycled polyester! The main fabric, inner lining, as well as the seams and straps: everything is made of a recycled yarn and has been processed with a hard-wearing, dense weave (consequently, the Re-Kanken is slightly heavier than the common model). An environmentally-friendly impregnation is also available. Even a special, gentle and resource-saving dyeing process (SpinDyeing) comes into use! And once the Re-Kanken will be worn out, it can be recycled as well.With its volume of 16 liters the Re-Kanken requires eleven PET-bottles to form the recycled polyester needed for its production. As usual, the design and equipment feature three outside pockets, seat pad and various carrying options. Thanks to its subtle, ton-in ton design and the embroidered logo, the Re-Kanken stands out from the standard model.

I like the square design, that I can open it almost all the way till the bottom, I like the pockets and that things doesn’t easily fall out of the small front pocket even if you forget to zip it up, I like that the straps are not wide. I knew what I was buying, and I’m satisfied with it: a fashionable workhorse.
