The Orion III Extreme from Exped is an expedition tent for 2 to 3 people. This free-standing combo of a dome and tunnel tent comes complete with a ridge pole and is extremely sturdy in stormy conditions thanks to its aerodynamic design. The flysheet is tear resistant and the tension loops are directly attached to the pole sleeve. Of course, the tent comes with Dyneema guy lines that boast a tear strength of 200kg with a diameter of only 1.8mm as well. The external flat pole sleeve and the internal pole sleeves serve to support the aerodynamics of the tent.
The 2-3-man expedition tent has 2 large entrances with a raised floor to keep the snow out of the interior. Of course, as two entrances are an absolute must for expedition tents for mountaineering, especially at high altitudes, this tent comes with two as well to make tent life more comfortable and convenient. That way, you and your partner wont get in each others way when packing or getting read to head out. Plus, the Orion III Extreme has two vestibules, providing plenty of secure storage space for both of your rucksacks, cooking or slipping your overshoes on and off. Its little things like that just make living with one another in close quarters much easier and more pleasant. Since its by no means rare that weather or illness forces 3 people to share a single tent, Exped made sure to make the Orion III Extreme roomy enough to accommodate that many people. Its very comfortable for two, and the space is sufficient if you need room for three. At least with the extra company, it will be a bit warmer inside the tent!
Of course, you can use this excellent expedition tent as a base camp at a campsite as well, provided you dont mind all the weird looks!
