Product description
Durable climbing rope with a diameter of 9.6 mm
The Parrot 2R 9.6 from Edelrid is a durable all-round rope with a diameter of 9.6 mm and an ecologically reduced footprint. 2R ("Reuse") stands for the reutilisation of high-quality residual yarns from the brand’s own production. According to the manufacturer, the properties and strength values are identical to those of a comparable rope with yarns from the first use.
Thermo Shield finishing
Thermo Shield is the basic treatment that Edelrid applies to all its ropes to ensure the renowned suppleness of Edelrid ropes. This finishing is a thermal process that perfectly blends the core and sheath yarns. A special heat treatment causes the fibres in the rope to relax and shrink. This harmonises the sliding characteristics of the yarns inside the rope, making it supple and compact. This produces ropes that neither shrink nor stiffen quickly.
The features at a glance:
- Pleasant handling thanks to the Thermo Shield treatment
- Untangled and ready for immediate use thanks to 3D lapcoiling
- Reduced ecological footprint through reuse (2R) of high-quality residual yarns from their own production
- Unique design: the pattern and colour of the rope vary due to the use of rope remnants
