Edelrid's Jul2 Belay Kit Bulletproof Triple is an excellent belay and abseiling set consisting of the Edelrid Jul 2 belay device and the HMS carabiner Bulletproof Triple. The Jul 2 has a very high braking performance and is used for single ropes with a diameter of 8.9 to 11mm. Handling is simple and convenient, and paying out slack when belaying the leader is a doddle. The device made of abrasion-resistant steel is easy to use and thus great for beginners, especially in conjunction with an HMS carabiner like the Bulletproof Triple.
The special thing about the Edelrid Bullet Proof Triple HMS carabiner is that it combines the advantages of a particularly strong steel carabiner with those of a lightweight aluminium carabiner: It has a steel reinforcement element and an integrated wire bar. The steel serves to prevent premature wear caused by the rope or bolt hanger. The wire bar serves to prevent cross-loading. The H-profile construction ensures the best possible use of material for the lowest possible weight. The Bulletproof Triple carabiner from Edelrid is an HMS carabiner with a triple lock. This means that the three movements are required in order for it to be opened. After some practice, this will you some more security when compared to screwgate HMS carabiners.
