Product description
Specifically made for demanding trips - the Edelrid Attila Tec! This ice axe has the features of a classic ice tool and is, with its slightly curved tubular aluminium shaft, thus perfect for very steep ice. Plus, it boasts a variety of great extras that make using it easier. For example, it has a patented fold-out hand rest for which no tools are required. In addition, there is a centroid marking on the robust aluminium shaft which facilitates T-anchor build up.
The sharp and stable hardened steel pick comes with an ergonomically-shaped thermoplastic grip to keep your hands from freezing when plunging on the uphill. The steel spike also has a large hole to accommodate a carabiner. Lastly, grip tape is included for additional grip on the shaft. With all of its fantastic and practical features and excellent handling, the Edelrid Attila Tec is sure to fulfil your every wish!

Very well made and designed Ice Axe. I have used it on two serious Scottish climbs now and will continue to prefer this over my trusty but old grivel for one axe routes. Only criticism is that it is too light on harder snow routes. Difficult to get real momentum at times to get a good bite. Don’t use tether with this one. Don’t need to given nice design features.

Doesn't fit in the hand well
Have used various ice axes including pterradactyls on Blue Riband, Zero gully etc and more modern tools. Always with a tether (leash). Would not be useful to drop an axe and see it slide away. Looks like a great tool. I would like one. Great design features as Ian says.
