Thermal mat for alpine tours and winter bivouacs
The Rapide SL Insulated from Big Agnes is an inflatable thermal mat designed for alpine tours and winter bivouacs. It's got excellent insulating properties, is made from tough materials and offers a high level of comfort. It can also be easily compressed and stowed in a backpack.
Outer material
It’s made of an outer material made from durable polyamide ripstop with a TPU coating. In addition, the material has an antimicrobial treatment to prevent the development of unpleasant odours.
Insulation
The PrimaLoft Silver insulation has an impressive thermal performance. With an R value of 4.8, the thermal mat is suitable for very cold temperatures. In addition, a two-layer, heat-reflective coating prevents too much body heat from escaping.
Construction
Thanks to the quilted lying surface, it feels soft and comfortable to lie on. It’s completed by outer air baffles that are slightly larger so that your body remains in the centre.

Bought this as my old pad (of a seperate brand) broke after 2 uses and I will say that this is amazing! new to Big Agnes products, but they seem like a reliable brand focussed on quality, which is great! One negative is that its a very slim size and only really great for back sleepers - which i am not, so its a little uncomfortable
